🤔 Reward Redemption FAQ

Written by Noah Reid

1. My Guusto reward is showing $0 available

No need to worry! This does not mean that the Merchant gift card has no remaining balance. This means the remaining balance of the Guusto reward is $0, meaning there are no funds remaining to redeem for a merchant gift card. We do not have access to the balance of your merchant gift card; please reach out to the merchant's customer support for help accessing its balance.

2. I redeemed for a gift card, but how do I use it in store?

To use the merchant gift card, you can print it to take in-store, bring a screenshot in-store on a mobile device, or enter the codes online.

3. Can I use Redeem for multiple different merchant gift cards?

Yes! Absolutely you can. In the How to redeem your Guusto reward article, in step 6, you can simply enter any amount to redeem that you'd like. This can be a partial amount of the full value of the gift. Ex. You can enter $15 to redeem, even if the full gift is for $30!

4. What happens to any remaining amount on my merchant gift card?

The remaining balance can be used anytime at the same merchant (different location of same merchant is okay). The remaining balance will remain on your merchant gift card, which can be found within your Guusto account at any time. Merchant gift cards* do not expire. *Expiry does apply to Prepaid Mastercards

5. Do I have to sign up to redeem my gift?

Yes, you'll need to create a Guusto account to be able to claim your reward and redeem for a merchant of your choice. This will also ensure you'll never lose your reward in a stack of messages, since you can access it anytime through guusto.com or the mobile app. Once claimed, all your Guusto rewards and merchant gift cards are stored within your Guusto account - like a digital wallet!

6. Are Guusto rewards a taxable benefit?

Let us preface by saying you should consult your human resources or finance team for tax advice. That said, many physical or digital gift cards from an employer are considered a taxable benefit, just like a cash bonus. Of course, claiming a Guusto reward is optional. It is only considered a taxable benefit once claimed, so you never get taxed on rewards you don't claim.

7. Can I change the merchant I selected?

No. As a gift recipient, once you've selected the merchant and viewed the gift card, the merchant cannot be changed.

8. Where can I redeem a Guusto reward?

You can view our list of available merchants here! Scroll down on the page and filter by your currency.
