How to Redeem your Guusto gift

How do I use my gift? How do I claim and redeem a Guusto Gift? How do I print my gift?

Written by Noah Reid

Before a Guusto gift can be used with a merchant, it must first be claimed and then redeemed. Claiming a gift to your account ensures that it never expires, and you can redeem it for a merchant gift card at any time in the future.

Guusto offers multiple convenient methods to claim gifts, whether they arrive via email, as a printed gift, or a reference number. Users can follow clear instructions to claim and redeem their gifts effectively.

If you already have a Guusto account, your gift may already be waiting for you. Simply log in and go to Redeem Gifts to check.

My Gift Was Printed, or I Have a URL or QR Code

1. Enter the URL printed on your gift into the address bar of your web browser. Make sure to type it exactly as shown, including any uppercase or lowercase letters—it is case sensitive.

Alternatively, you can scan the QR code if one was provided.

If the URL doesn’t work properly, try clearing your browser's cookies and cache, and ensure that it is entered exactly as printed. If issues persist, you can contact Guusto Support for assistance.

If you encounter issues opening the link, reach out to our customer support team using the chat bubble in the bottom-right corner of the screen. For specific error messages like 'Already Claimed,' verify whether the gift has been claimed but not redeemed by checking your account. If the URL doesn’t work, clear your browser's cookies and cache. Additionally, take a screenshot of your screen to document the issue, which can help Guusto Support in diagnosing the problem. Provide pertinent details like the reference number, sender's email, or error messages for further assistance.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

  • If your gift card shows as 'Claimed' but cannot be found in your account, check the "Redeem Gifts" section for unredeemed cards.

  • Always document technical issues by taking a screenshot to streamline support assistance during claiming or redemption.

  • Already Claimed Message: Check account for unredeemed gifts linked to your profile.

  • URL or Link Not Working: Ensure case-sensitive input, clear browser cookies, and contact support with sender details or error messages for further help.

2. Once the link is opened, proceed to Step 1 in the “If Your Gift Was Emailed or Texted to Me” section below to complete the claiming process.

If Your Gift Was Emailed or Texted to You

1. Click “Add to my account” in the email or text message you received. This will open a web browser.

2. Log into your Guusto account, or sign up if you don’t have one.

3. Once logged in, click “Add gift to My Account.”

4. Type a short message to let the sender know you’ve received the gift, and click Confirm.

Your gift has now been claimed and added to your Guusto account.

How to redeem your gift

Redeeming a Claimed Gift Card

Once you have claimed your gift card, you can directly proceed to redeem it using the steps below:

Redeeming a Gift Card Not Yet Claimed

If your gift card has not been claimed yet, be sure to first claim it by logging into your Guusto account and following the claiming process. Once completed, refer to the steps outlined under 'Redeeming a Claimed Gift Card.'

5. Within your Guusto account, go to Redeem Gifts and you can claim the gift directly and click on View Details for the already claimed gift from list of gifts in your account (skip to step 9 if your gift was sent as a specific merchant gift).

6. Enter the desired amount to redeem, and click browse. If the currency selector appears beside, you are able to select any one of the available currencies.

7. Browse the available merchant options and select the one you'd like. Please note: Once selected, the merchant cannot be changed.

8. Click View Gift Card to view the merchant gift card - it will open in a new tab or window.

9. Present your merchant gift card on your mobile phone as a PDF or a screenshot. You also have the option of printing your merchant gift card. The merchant staff will redeem it like any regular gift card.
